Their characters of Alex Karev, Callie Torres, Richard Webber, and Miranda Bailey will be joining Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), and Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) for at least the next two years, should the series be picked up for these additional seasons by the network. An official renewal for the series is likely to come in the next few weeks, when all the major networks reveal their fall TV schedules. Chambers, Pickens Jr., Wilson, Pompeo, and Demsey, are the only remaining five cast members that have been with the show since it premiered back in 2005. The fact that Justin Chambers , Sara Ramirez , Chandra Wilson , and James Pickens Jr. have each inked deals for two more seasons of the medical drama has got to be good news for fans. Both Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo signed 2-year contracts in January as well. That accounts for most of the main cast. ABC has not yet confirmed that the show will be back for an eleventh season, let alone a twelfth.
